I was born in a small town in upstate New York. At a young age I was influenced by my grandmother, Shirley, who was a graduate of Juilliard for piano. I remember listening to grandma play and dancing around with my older brother, Lee. I had such a love for music – the way it connects people. I also remembers bragging to anyone who would listen that grandma dated Leonard Bernstein while at Juilliard. Obviously, still bragging….
I was always involved in high school theater productions – my music teachers were my closest friends. It was then I knew there was nothing else I’d rather do than perform!
I went on to study acting at SUNY Binghamton. After graduating Cum Laude, I packed my bags and two days later was living on my brother’s couch in his New York City apartment. New York City gave way to many theater opportunities. I was involved in brand new musical workshops and other singing events. However, like most actors, I booked jobs which allowed me to see other places all over the world. I had the opportunity to travel around the Baltic singing on a cruise ship. Eventually I landed in Hershey, Pennsylvania where I would frequent twice a year for two years working with Matt Davenport Productions. While performing in Hershey, I won Best Female Entertainer of the Year in 2011 for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Very thankful for those months spent in Hershey because I also met the love of my life.
In December of 2011 I auditioned for The General Jackson Showboat in Nashville, TN. One of the only remaining attractions from the Gaylord Opryland Park, I was extremely thankful to book the gig! I have been singing 5 and 6 nights a week on the boat ever since. The show ranges in genre of music – everything from Stax Records to gospel to Carrie Underwood.
Singing has always been a strong point for me, however, I felt like something was missing. This summer I decided to hone in on that missing element and started taking acting classes at the Nashville Acting Studio under the tutelage of Jessejames Locorriere and Caroline Locorriere. Focusing on scene study and acting for the camera, I’m developing my craft and becoming a more well-rounded performer.
This past October I signed with The Avenue Agency. I’m eager and ready to see where 2014 will take me! Please keep checking back for more news and updates.
Hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me!
